About

Golf Cycle is two people in Portland, Oregon.

We find golf balls on and around courses, bring them home, wash them, and sort them by hand into models and grades. Then we sell them for a fraction of what the same ball costs new.

That is the entire business. There is no warehouse and no machine doing the grading. When you get a bag of Pro V1s from us, somebody picked each one up, looked at it, and decided which bin it went in.

Why we started

Because a dozen Pro V1 costs about $58, and a good golfer loses two or three of them in a round without thinking about it. The ball does not get worse because somebody else hit it first. It just gets cheaper.

What we will not do

We do not strip and repaint balls. We do not sell range balls — the striped ones belong to the facility they came from. We do not describe a ball as better than it is, because the first time we do that we lose a customer permanently and gain about four dollars.

Questions

If something shows up and it is not what you expected, tell us. We would rather hear it than read it in a review.
